John "Poli" Palmer

Artist Bio:

Member of several English rock groups in the 60s, including The Hellions alongside future Traffic members Jim Capaldi and Dave Mason, then joined prog-rock Family (“In My Own Time,” UK #4, 1971) in 1969 on keyboards, flute and drums and helped re-write the group’s in-progress third album, A Song For Me (1970) to include his arrangements of previously finished material, left the group in 1972 for a long career as a collaborator, producer, session musician, and computer music designer, joined his Family bandmates for a reunion of touring from 2013 to 2016, died from undisclosed causes on 7/21/2025, age 82.
